Jazz Apples
Jazz™ Apples are a crunchy, effervescent and distinctively original new variety available in every state throughout Australia. A cross between Gala and Braeburn apples, it has firm but dense flesh and a tangy, sweet flavour.
Small to medium in size, Jazz™ Apples feature a pink/red blush over a light green background. The variety has already proven to have good keeping qualities.
The Jazz™ variety was introduced to Australian consumers by Montague Fresh in 2006 and was available for purchase in a limited number of select produce stores. In 2013 Montague Fresh is proud to present its fourth real commercial harvest of the Jazz™ Apple – a result of one of Australia’s biggest planting programs yet.
470,000 Jazz™ trees have been grown in specially selected regions of Australia. The 2011 apple season Jazz™ fruit will be grown in Batlow (NSW), Huon Valley (TAS), Adelaide Hills (SA), Stanthorpe (QLD), Manjimup (WA), Northern Tasmania and Southern Victoria, where the trees enjoy summer sun, high rainfall, cool winters and rich soil.
